I don’t normally make many protein shake recipes, as I like to try and only have shakes, most of the time, immediately after my workouts (at which point Im just eager to get the shake down me rather than mucking around with a recipe). The rest of the time I like to eat ‘normal’ food. However, thats not always convenient, so I was experimenting with a few things at the weekend and this idea came to me. It tastes real good and is absolutely packed with nutrition. You get protein from the whey, good fats from the avocado and coconut milk, loads of vitamins from the apple. Its probably not something I’d have straight after a workout (I prefer carbs/protein normally after training rather than anything high in fats), but for earlier in the day, this is great.
Recipe: Apple Pie Protein Shake
- 2 Scoops Vanilla Whey
- 1 Green Apple
- 1 Avocado
- 350ml Coconut Milk (I use Koko) – but water can also be used
- 1tsp Cinnamon
- Cut the apple into small pieces.
- Scoop out the avocado.
- Put all of the ingredients into a mix, and blend thoroughly.
